FAQ's


Referrals: People refer themselves to see me for an initial consultation and referrals from other professionals are welcome. I am a registered member of BACP and adhere to their ethical framework. I offer individual, face to face or telephone counselling.

Appointments: Initial consultation is carried out to agree working together. Each counselling session lasts for 60 minutes. Fees are reviewed annually. Appointments can be arranged mutually between client and myself. The minimum frequency is 1 session per week at the same time each week. The maximum frequency is 3 sessions per week at the same times each week.

Cancellations: I request at least 48 hours' notice of all cancellations, and will honour a person the same consideration, I will at my discretion charge for cancellation of sessions less than the required timing.

Confidentiality: During the counselling session, I will respect your confidentiality, though there are a few exceptions to this:

I have your permission to disclose information to others where necessary.

I am required to do so by a court of law.

If you are involved in a criminal activity which may be harmful to another person or yourself.

No taping of sessions from either participant unless both agreed.

GP Information: We will discuss and agree the need for this at the beginning of our work together. I would not contact your GP without your consent.

Supervision: It is a professional requirement for counsellors and therapists to have supervision for the client and counsellors well-being, the identity of the client is always protected.

Parking and facilities: Parking is available. My consulting room is on the first floor and there are no special disabled facilities.

Consulting Room: The consulting room is on the ground floor.
